1. Put Yourself First
As women, we often struggle because we want to help or fix other people. But the cliche is true. You can’t fill another person’s cup if yours is empty. You must first learn to choose yourself and take care of yourself first. Even then, you can’t expect to fix other people’s problems. However, you can show up for them and be supportive as long as your cup is full.
2. Stand Up for Yourself
Next, you must learn to stand up for yourself. The earlier you realize this, the better. Rather than speaking in questions, practice being confident in your speech. Know what you want for yourself and go for it, even if no one supports you. Trust your decision and confidently pursue it.
3. Set Boundaries
To set boundaries, you must first know what your end goal is. Don’t make life decisions based on where you are now but on where you are going. When you have a clear vision of where you are going, it’s easier to set realistic boundaries that must be respected. You can help more people when you are where you need to be.
